Here is the text of an ACTUAL letter to The Heart of Henderson from a year-round resident in Henderson. We have omitted the writer’s name. The current Town Board shows the same disdain for seasonal taxpayers. Seasonal people pay over 80% of the taxes in Henderson and support local economy by supporting local businesses! Read on:
[Dear Heart of Henderson:] I MUST take exception with your comment encouraging people to vote in Henderson when they are only here seasonally. People should vote where they live! People who are not full time residents should not be voting here to help you and your organization vote in candidates to your liking! Shame on you! Your vote counts the same no matter where you are. Quite frankly I don’t want a bunch of weekend warriors having a say in our local government.

Henderson Bans Wind Turbines!
We wish to THANK ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED TO KEEP COMMERCIAL WIND TURBINES OUT OF HENDERSON! We are only part of the whole picture of various groups and individual citizens who wish to preserve the natural beauty of our waterways and countryside–our way of life. But we cannot let our guard down. We will continue to work with others to preserve the beauty of Lake Ontario and the North Country. The work against the Galloo Island Wind Farm and subsequent transmission lines across Henderson is not finished. And the NYPA plan to put turbines in Lake Ontario is still on the table. Help us save these NATIONAL TREASURES!
